Yaseen Maqbool appointed as Assistant Professor in June 2017 at the age 25, a resident of Kantabagh Magam

He does not look back when he sets on a task. He firmly believes in studies with hardwork, dedication, determination and concentration. Such dedication led Yaseen Maqbool who qualified Assistant Professor exam at a young age of 25 in the year 2017 and has become an inspirational figure.

Yaseen Maqbool’s childhood is a story of struggle, painful and misery but he has now managed to raise his family from penury with his hard work, dedication, tireless efforts and sheer hard work.

Born in a Penurious family which lived on the Srinagar Gulmarg National Highway at Kantabagh 3kms from the congested Magam town of Central Kashmir’s Budgam District Yaseen’s childhood was bereft of any happiness, “I used to look into the eyes of my parents and feel the hardships from which we were going through,” Yaseen recalls with his voice choked with emotions and the tears were trickling down from his cheeks. His father was a Carpenter that earned him low wages to meet the expenses of his family included three children. Although his mother also contributed to family’s income by embroidery but their relentless crusade against poverty didn’t end. “I remember when my mother worked with embriodery in order to pay my school fees,” says Yaseen with a sighing tone.

Born and brought up at Village Kantabagh Yaseen Maqbool’s journey is wonderful and Inspirational. He did his early schooling at Govt Primary School Kantabagh, Govt High School SK Pora and Govt Higher Secondary School Magam respectively After his schooling, he did his Graduation at Govt Degree College Bemina. In 2012 entrance exam Yaseen got first rank in botany and later he completed his M.Sc from Kashmir University with 76% Marks.(Distinction) Yaseen said “ when i topped the Kashmir University Entrance exam i have taken owe of 20,000 rs from my neighbour which i paid him back after two years. After that he qualified SLET, NET JRF with all India rank 73. In 2016 Yaseen qualified the 10+2 lecturer exam and was among 5 toppers. He didn’t stop he continued his hard work and dedication which bore the fruit in 2017 June when he became the Youngest Assistant Professor in J&K in Botany Subject. Presently Yaseen Maqbool is posted at SP College Srinagar.

His work didn’t disturb the course of his studies. He continued to study day and night. “The struggle of my father made me strong to withhold such things. After I qualified my matriculation, “I rarely slept for four or five hours during night and studied in rest of time. My hard work bore fruit and I got selected Assistant Professor ” he says.

At this time, the money Yaseen earned improved the economic conditions at home. “My mother and father had gone through tough times. I wanted to comfort my parents and rest of the family. Thus I worked hard by teaching students” says Yaseen. “I am happy and satisfied that I did something for my family and brought them out of poverty”, he says with a satisfaction and smile on his face. Talking about his future plans, Yaseen says “that i want to serve humanity on a larger scale and I have found no option better than teaching.” With his dedication and hard work, he has lifted his family from impoverishment and has become an inspiration for all youth.Yaseen Maqbool never gave up on his dream of becoming an Assistant Professor. He worked hard, overcame poverty and adversity, and surpassed the expectations of just about everyone. It is important to remember that you too can accomplish anything you set your mind to, so follow your dreams and work hard!
